Truckin’ jam
If there’s something special in this show – it is transition to Eyes. A traditional “Truckin’ jam” after a quick change of rhythm transforms into Phil’s solo. At 13 minute mark we clearly hear introduction riffs of Eyes a bit behind Phil’s lines and then music suddenly ends up – Jerry steps in with a short and nice solo only after which the melody of “Eyes of the World” begins flowing… Nice stuff.
Personally I don’t like psychedelic jam after Eyes but transition to Stella Blue was performed nicely due to that.
PS: I wish songs from both Champaign-Urbana shows weren’t mixed here. It’s the main reason not to be content with the music

Grateful for gdlive.com
This is a very well-played show. The SBD is still at gdlive for download. A good recording with a good balance - maybe a bit noisey.

Amen!
This mish-mashed mess is confusing and sloppy! All of the 2/22 show circulates except for Around and Around.
Get the 2/22 show and be done with it. That is a 4 star performance...

Trippin' in the Corn 4.5 stars
Holy Wow. Just look at the set lists from this show, and the next night. Back to back Dark Stars!? (in the same town!)...not quite...the 2/21 show ends with Good Lovin'...the remaining cuts are from 2/22. Yes, February '73 was a month to remember! Too bad I was only 6...and the Dead never played Champaign while I was at the U of I in the '80s...Assembly Hall was and IS a great venue! 4.5 stars!

wonderful, cryptic
Sound quality and performance are excellent- but the material here is in excess and a bit out-of sync- it seems that there are part of 2 shows in this download... that said, it's effin great stuff...
