Mono
Nice sound, but it's mono, right channel only, put into both sides. Thus, no Keith.

Fantastic all around
Great set, great quality, one of my faves of 77.
Anyone else notice that China Cat tease in Franklin's, or am I crazy?

I'm Franklin's Tower!
So, my last name is Franklin and I was born on 9-29-1977, and I've been looking for a good copy of this show for a while now, especially since they played Franklin's. Thanks for posting it...but does anyone know where I can get a downloadable copy???? Would love to listen to it somewhere besides my laptop!

Real nice
They are very warmed up by LIG - look out! Franklin's is also a sweet standalone (the only of 1977 I believe).
2nd set Truckin thru GDTRFB also brings the goods.

Was Keith on Stage?
I like those laid-back "slow" shows! And I do like this one. But what`s with Keith? I dont hear any piano...

Good show but they sound a little tired or hungover. Good sound too.

Fun show, lazy groove, good Bobby licks
The energy level (or is it just the tempo?) is a little suppressed this night, reminding one a bit of a '76 show rather than a '77. It doesn't stand out as a great one for the year, or the month, but then the bar is set pretty dang high, right?
Excellent Jerry licks in Stella Blue, but I'd choose 5/13/77 over this one. Both drip honey in a big way! And is Bob not giving a China Cat tease at the 3 min. mark in Franklin's? Bobby is up in the mix on this board, and it shows just how great (yes, GREAT) Bobby could play. Anyone who trashes Bob just doesn't understand how integral his rhythm thang is to the group's overall sound. He is just about as unique in his rhythm spot as Jerry was in his lead spot. You don't have to agree. ; )
I think it deserves a solid four stars, maybe 4.25, so I gotta round down. Worth listening to.

Well above average show...
I agree with liranfa - The last 3 songs of the 1st set are insane. The first set starts off pretty average, but solid, the Sugaree kicks things up a notch. Its no 10/16/77, but good nonetheless. The LIG is f****n intense. Listen to Jerry go nuts! And the almost 17 minute Franklins is epic. The 2nd set is a pretty average looking setlist, but very well played. First time I've listened to this hidden gem, and its a keeper!!

Average?
I dare anyone to listen to the last three songs of the first set and tell me that this show is average. This version of "Franklin's Tower" is on par with the "Morning Dew" from Cornell. In fact, in an interview with Jerry before the next show (Portland) that's been circulating, he talks about how much fun the band had playing this show and how rare that was. Average?......I think not!!!!!!!!

interesting Franklin's
I pretty much agree in saying that this is an average show. Great to listen and chill to but if you are itching for some outragous dead jams, this is not the show you are looking for. There is one stand out tune in my opinion and it's this version on Franklin's. It is really different.

Garcia endorsed
I was recently listening to a tape of Garcia talking to people backstage (10-2-77), wherein he recalls the second night in Seattle as being a really good show. So just thought I'd pass that along.
