Yup I was there. This is night two of a two-night stand. I thought both nights for exceptional and that one having a awesome china doll. And some fantastic blotter acid that was gifted to me. Good times good times oh yes it did rain plenty I remember finding an underground parking garage and so had hundreds of other deadheads and the place was humming like a hive right up until the time the dead were to take the stage. Nobody really cared to see sting in the rain.
Too bad this show is only available here as an audience recording that could be better fidelity. Awesome show however awesome setlist and the boys are on their game.

Spectacular . This show just SWINGS . It brims and has incredible energy
I was 18 in 1993 , and missed these two Chicago shows ( I lived in Iowa } . Had to wait til the next year to see my first shows .
This performance , from that summer depicts my absolute , true and genuine view of what the Dead sounded like that period . That year to be more percise . This show , in the middle of that hot and rainy summer ; had the inmense power , inspiration and brilliance to produce such awesome setlists like on this night .
This show is very infectious . You feel as though you re in the rainy Soldier field , in an altered state of consciousness , listening to this psichdelic music , that by Maggies farm and broken arrow , we know we re seeing / hearing one of the finest Grateful Dead concerts being witnessed . Thanks band . It s these performances that bring me back to you time and time again
This ought to be a vault release . But this audience recording done with Schoeps mics should be the release , as you feel and hear the irony of what seeing a Dead show in these conditions was like . You hear the people s approval of the music , as the rain just pours and pours down . The band knew well how to ' deliver ' in these instances . They were not only the best at that they did , they were the only ones that did what they did ..
Long live that SUMMER Of 1993 !!!!!
P.S. Many back then thought that the Deer creek shows - of 1993 - were the peak of that summer . I think THIS show was the peak of summer 1993 . Peace
No rating , because this is a 1000000000 star performance : )

This is a good summer 93 show, especially the absolutely blistering versions of Deal and China>Rider, which rank among the best of this era. Truckin>Smokestack is no slouch, this Smokestack is particularly sinister. Rain encore is also very sweet.
The problem here is the crappy AUD tape. Unfortunately there is no listenable copy of this show on the archive as the SBD has an annoying static. I am eagerly looking foward to an upgrade.
2 stars for AUD
4 stars for show

I remember this show quite well. Miserable all day long. Must have been the wettest show I ever attended. The lot was soooo... dead. Inside everybody was on the first tier trying to stay dry(upper seats have no roof)and hardly anybody was dancing. Wasn't this the show that the Bulls won the championship and the dead broke out with the steal your bull during set break? So far great music making a bad day an OK one. Then the magic happened during Standing on the moon. There was so much energy coming out of that stadium that we punched a hole through the cloud, and for the entire song the full moon was on the screens and it stayed that way for the rest of the show. And Rain an an Encore....too much. all I can say is wow.

This run of shows was one of the greatest times in my life. Lots of great memories from this show. I'll never forget camping out in downtown Chicago. The lot scene was Amazing!
The first set highlights for me were the Rooster, Maggies Farm and Deal.
Second Set I like the China>Rider opener.
Smokestack into a spooky drumz>space and a solid SOTM. No one could captivate an audience like Jerry Garcia.
Throwing Stones is one of my favorites and I was not dissapointed with this version.
Rain was an appropriate encore and cicely done.
There is nothing like a Grateful Dead concert.

Great sound on this recording. Can anybody else hear "popping" on the low end? Its more of an annoyance for me, but otherwise a nice recording.

this was the rainy show, not the night before. Either way, had a blast during both shows. Love those Chicago storms

I was at this show. Yes it rained mightily. Blew Sting right off the stage. This recording is not great, but listening brought goosebumps. I wish the recording could capture the amazingness of the encore, Gerry and the boys had thier best harmony in years. When my friends and I found each other after the show, they said they ALL thought of me when "Rain" was played, as I am a huge Beatles fan.

I'm a bit confused. Nothing new, but where is the show? Why is ist only available as streaming? Why doesn't the streaming work?
I was at this show. I've been looking for it. Here it is .. or isn't. There seems to be a lot of shows from 92-95 that aren't there yet/anymore. It would be nice if a show is pulled for some reason, other than having been officialy released, that the page would say why.
I rate the show as a 3 1/2 star [from memory, not this alleged recording]

Pretty lackluster show. Much more energy the night before. Tonight, the boys were punching the clock....nothing awful, but nothing really stands out. The recording does nicely captures that weird, swirling sound around the venue that the wind caused in Soldier.
