Of all the shows I attended, this one stands out. The flow of music this night was as good as it gets. Loved the people I was with and even tho we haven't talked in years, they are as special as the music. Miss them both equally.

My first show, and what a doozy.
All i knew at the time was that I had arrived - I had found my heart....
Years later, knowing the material like I didn't then - and with a vast accumulated frame of reference - i get to listen with a smile from ear to ear because I KNOW what an AMAZING show this was!!!
(Lucky me!!)

Great Show Grate recording. No Video available.
Just about every song is a good to excellent version of that song. My bus, The Canibus parked at the Omni between these shows. I slept in the bus on the lot on the first night. Those of us who got to see The Lot scene before its implosion, know just how weird it could get in the wee hours.
GDT sent me Taper tickets so I heard every note so well. The feeling inside that night was a Spring Tour vibe for sure. Fresh. Optimistic.
The Playing is both subtle and inspired.
The blonde Lebanese didn't hurt.

This would be the last show at The Omni where overnight parking was allowed in the lots nearby. Our van was robbed after making a poor street parking choice the prior night. This show was our reward. Outstanding energy in the hall that night. We went out and camped after this show at Stone Mountain. We had the campground virtually to ourselves that night. By the next year Stone Mountain became the place to be. I remember seeing a vision this night during Samson. I saw a giant lion's skull apparition hovering over the floor with honey dripping down onto the fans below and immense honey bees zooming in and out of the skull. It was quit a sight. Did anyone get a picture of it? :)

Glad to finally get the SBD version. Aside from the guy constantly whistling during Drums/Space, this is a great recording!

What a great setlist! Especially a rocking, kick-ass first set. Love the LTGTR>Franklin's. Oh, and the sound quality is great, per usual for Charlie Miller and the great year that was 1989.

one of only two for the decade, as far as I can tell.
Laguna Seca '88 being the other version that gets more press.

great recording of a great show. this was my 3rd Dead show, and my best up to that point. Afterward, was partying in a lot and got nabbed by the scariest 2 cops I,ve ever seen (red dog squad). They told me they were gonna beat the shit out me, but I was rescued by their supervisor. WHEW!

This board is better than my wildest dreams for this show. Great second set. Ship, Playing>Foolish, sick drumz, and one of the fav. NFA's that I saw. This was the kick-off of a new lighting (the diamond??!! Those guys had the best seats!! XD) rig, and the band was putting it through it's paces at the Omni for sure!!

woooooooohooooooo! A soundboard finally exists of my second best show I saw live(4/5/91 wins, hands down). And what a gorgeous sounding soundboard it is. Everything is mixed nicely right from the start, with plenty of crowd noise notch the x factor up a bit. A great show, with a peppy first set featuring a wonderful stand alone Franklin's Tower, and a BIG second set that just keeps on moving down the rails, culminating in a rockstar Throwin'/NFA that is the sort of thing we kept showing up for. The encore, only the 10th "Box" encore at that time, usually meant a stamp of approval from Phil, or so I've heard. It's superior to the one on Fallout From the Phil Zone, at least IMHO, done just perfectly as a lullaby to send us on our way. 5 stars, two thumbs up, and a parade for this show, just because of the performance, plus sound quality.
