...knew how to melt faces in '94, this is a beautiful, wonderfully solid show. Jerry is clearly and audibly engaged in the proceedings and his fingers are moving up and down the fretboard just fine for a latter day performance. I would have been happy to have danced my ass off to this one.
Solid 1st Set, imho Black Throated Wind was one of the best I've heard from the 90's, Bobby sang the heck out of it. Eyes>Estimated>Terrapin is 50 minutes of some pretty inspired locked-in jamming, Terrapin being particularly engaging.
As another reviewer noted, this is how Miracle should have been played all along, this version proved once again that song can be jammed out, even for a bit. Vince's keys on it was very tasty.
A really solid spirited show for any era to my ears.

I was 16 and a junior in high school. We drove from San Jose to Oakland and got super stoned in the parking lot. I walked in during Althea...absolutely stunning. Broken Arrow was good. Can’t remember most of the show. I do remember the feeling though. Memorable and turned me on to the Grateful Dead.

This show is definitely a rocker for '94. The energy that night was striking. The band was on, fairly cohesive, and definitely into the music for the music's sake.
Of particular note are the intros to Eyes of the World and I Need a Miracle. Jer's intro to Eyes is quite unique (I can't find another one like it) and just fantastic, and his solos throughout are beautiful. The way Miracle emerges out of Space and the way in which the band trickles in is phenomenal - the way Miracle should always have been done, if you ask me.
Give this gem a listen, for sure. And, yes, Jer broke a string during SOTM, and Bobby stepped in w/a simple, yet inspired solo, saturated in that feedback Bobby loved so much in the late 90's, that brought tears to the eyes of many of us (though, query whether the "dead air" was a contributing factor...).

Listened to this one at work today. Jerry Sounds pretty engaged though I am not a huge fan of the tone he elicits so often in this era. Still an above average show and an excellent one for the era. Nice recording.

The random whoops and hollers excite me to see why life is beautiful!
Such a mellifluous well-played set a tour of the human spirit so wondrous!
I think it warrants the answering of universal questions... and the beauty of life in alll mystical ways reveals in brush strokes resplendent... such radiant joy from the music!

i just want to say for all the nay sayers of the later years of the dead. Dude, these guys were in there 50's & 60's. They were in their prime in the early 70's. Get over it, and just enjoy the fact that we got to see one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time.

I know some people hate the "not bad for 94" tag line, but it's true. Very good show. I always loved the eyes>estimated>terrpain and the boys deliver on this night. Disappointing only because it was early in the year and we were optimistic that they could play this way for all of 94. Not to be.

I vividly remember Jerry breaking a string toward the end of SotM and Bobby playing the closing solo. Thanks Bob. This was a pretty solid little run of shows.
