Users have designated the following versions as heady!
15
Dancin' in the Streets
Dancin' > NFA > Dancin' sandy. Pretty hot stuff
18
The Wheel
Wheel > JAM. Really unique and creative version. Good work by Keith to push the envelope in the transition portion. Whole set is top shelf
10
Good Lovin'
Pimpin' this show hard lately. This version is HOT! Great jam out of this one. '76 just doesn't get the dap it deserves
26
Scarlet Begonias
No clean SBD on archive but at official Dead site a pristine version was on 30 days of Dead for DL. 2d best stand-alone I've heard next to 3-20-77
13
Comes A Time
Great version from a great show.
14
Playin' In The Band
Dark, explorative, and quick paced. Cool stuff here, not to mention the Wheel which proceeds and the jamming that snakes its way through all of set2
13
Not Fade Away
Part of an epic jam, plus an enormous China Cat tease at 10:45 in a 5-year spell without them. Very interesting groove, too.
11
Around and Around
Dialed in an ass kicking 1976 is definitely the year this song shined the most.
16
The Music Never Stopped
Cool jazzed out version....unique.
8
Samson and Delilah
Monster Samson to open this epic second set.
16
Sugaree
Thoughtful, almost 11 minute version. Greasing it up before the monster versions of 77. Excllent nonetheless.
7
Looks Like Rain
Great vocals by Bobby and Donna. Silky smooth.
2
Ramble On Rose
Underrated first set here. They boys were on all night in Cobo. Jumping rose
5
Loser
Very nice indeed. Just sounds great from 30 TATS with headphones on.
5
El Paso
The jazzy '76 feel brings out the polka in the song a bit more than in other years.
3
New Minglewood Blues
Great bass work from Phil and very unique - doesn’t sound like him. One of my favorite all time versions!
1
Bertha
An odd intro (possibly a tape cut) and a funky rhythm section stood out on this one
1
Mama Tried
This show feels very Jerry Band-ish
1
Drums
Perfectly into The Wheel
