That is all.
Subject: for me, a special show
After really hitting a groove with Peggy-O and Queen Jane, the Dead answer a chorus of "we want Phil" with the first-ever Rubin and Cherise. Wow. So nice to hear it here since the first minute at the actual show it was drowned out by the roaring crowd. Amazing energy. Jerry just belts it out. If you're afraid of this era, just forget about Vince and listen to JERRY!
Second set highlighted by only the second New Speedway Boogie since 1970! And I mean highlighted. It's probably the best jam of the night. Also one of the best Black Peter's I ever saw.
Great set list with no weak new tunes (introduced in coming years) to break the momentum. Great way to kick off Spring '91.

Note to previous reviewer, the Without a Net stuff was from the brent era, spring tour 1990.
I still think Summer 91 was the tour de force of the Hornsby era GD, without a doubt.

FYI - peggyO isnt listed but Jerr et al ripped it beautifully after the Walkin blooz...
Landover usually cant compare w/ MSG runs or Oakland delights, but I've seen too many Cap Center, RFK, Merriweather, Hampton shows not to say something bout this one -- wow
We sat Vince side midway up by the speakers -- solid '91 show - a real Jerry happy night. Smiles in the black t-shirt...Vince was key at this time, lest we forget.
Listen to the tape -- it MAY just sound average. remember, this was 91 --- but at the show - it was a real needed dose for the soul, loved it. The Truckin> NewSpeedway is off the chain --
And Jerry loved sing the Black Peter...are you gonna take issue???
This was a FUN FUN FUN run in Landover 91. Great it's all here on archive.org.
Output/ mix on this SB copy is outstanding - lots of energy - So friggin crisp - like Without a Net disc; culled from same run I think - maybe that was 90 -- whatever -- similar sound -- friggin rocked - how can anyone complain when they were on - playin in the band!
even if your "spoiled" with earlier exposure to the dead...gotta let it grow, bro -- they did. gosh darn they were soo good
--- 5's all round. Check it.
Subject: Black Peter "FAN!!!"
Subject: Sounds worse in retrospect
I also thought it was a pretty good show for that year. Listening to this, however, I thought I was at the skating rink, as I heard someone say before about Vince. I did not dislike Vince per se, but this recording his him way up in the mix and Jerry's guitar a little buried...and my ears really hurt
Subject: Hot 91 show!
Subject: A peak
lots of people hate vince, cant get over that jerry wanted to play different stuff than what he did in 1969, but this show is smoking.
"I can't think of a place that's more perfect
For a person as perfect as you" expert heads!!
vince is tasteful, jerry is on fire, and bob gives a shit. give this show a listen.
