The Filler
The filler is from 11.10.73. It's the only run of Playin>UJB>Dew>UJB>Playin. It's sweet!!!!

Filler?
Any body have any clue as to where this filler is from? The show ends with the encore Saturday Night according to
setlist.com. Although I know that particular resource is frequently wrong, it's quite obvious that Playin>UJB>Dew>UJB> Playin' is from a completely different source. Kind of surprised nobody has mentioned it up until now.

Don't Miss This!
Another show to pick when you think you've already
heard all the good 73 shows. It's easily overlooked because it's preceded and followed by some VERY heavy shows.
Set One isn't that special song-wise, and the playing seems a little subdued for the first 5-6
numbers. But then Jerry delivers a fine BE Woman,
and with Big River things begin to get jumping.
A rare Candyman follows, and then they really find
the groove with a well jammed Let it Grow and a hot, HOT rendition of China>Rider to close.
It's Disc Three that is the stand out here, with
a great Truckin>Nobody's Fault segue, and a long
Other One. Nearly a half hour's worth of inspired
jamming- not as fast or as jazzy as many for 73.
This one's mostly on the mellow side. That's until about 20:00, when they suddenly head straight into the Outer Limits, with I believe Ned Lagin joining the jam on synth. Not for everyone perhaps, but it's very effective with
certain combustable *refreshments*, and never gets
too harsh or dissonant to my ears. The Space section sounds amazingly like what they would create ten years later during 1983 shows
The Wharf Rat is powerful and passionate, and the
Uncle John for an encore an extra treat.
A satisfying show and worth having. I noticed the volume seems lower compared to other 73 shows. I hope this wasn't "normalized" at some point. Deserves a strong 3 stars, and a listen!
enjoy,
Dr. Flashback ;-)

welcome to outer space!
good sound, the band is on, and the second set blasts off into space out of he's gone and wanders around for quite a while. the hard driving rocking jam sound we all love is never reached, but it doesn't seem as if they were aiming for that. jerry meanders, and we just listen. good show!

Eh
This show does have its highlights, including a loose scampering China > Rider. Over all, it's lacking. The main jam is particularly disappointing. Starting from He's Gone forward, they never seem to lock into the X Factor that really makes things soar. When they turn from He's Gone into Truckin', for example, you can tell it's more from a lack of better ideas than a natural evolution of the jam.
9-08-73 is a show with a setlist similar to this one, and it rocks.

Cameron Crazies!
This show ranks as one of the most memorable and spiritual concerts in my life. The band was on fire, and the atmosphere was magical. The "step back" rap before A & A is the best I've ever heard, and the entire show was intense. This SB is wonderful - you should definitely get this show. One of the very best '73 shows !
