Im sorry but this Board tape is stellar. The first set is very upbeat and they throw in some rarely played gems. The 2nd set opener Help>Slip>Franklins is on of my favs and really the whole set is killer

Aside from an awesome dew/miracle, very hot, fun, hilarious...and slightly sloppy. Sounds like they're making fun of themselves.

I LOVE THE GRATEFUL DEAD!!!

Amazing show. No Foolin' !
A must, I was at this show, 8th(?) row Dead center! Fabulous acoustics. The only building I've ever been in designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
Yes I confess, there was mescaline involved, but I've had a tape of this for a long time and it lives up to my memory. Especially, the second set! The day before was good also.

lovely, tender and all things timeless.
What an opening tune! Yea ha. Immediately I left the time frame game and was into the heart of the rose. Charming and soul deluxe right up through Brother. Oh Brother get lost. I think Brother Esau is my least loved song (pure bane). Luckily that wasn't the main gig tonight though. The pain forgotten on the first pick up in Help! We can run all the way to the encore without missing a beat. Just try to keep up. Wowee.. To the Dewey below- what a feeling right!>! I think the best I have heard in a while from the 80's is the last show at JFK 7-7-87... triple sevens into infinity.

This show does not accurately represent 1984. It far exceeds anything else done that year. This recording is THE BARTON HALL of the 80's! If you're looking for THE BEST KEPT SECRET RECORDING OF THE 80's, this is it, period.
The mix is just stellar and fantastic, what a great WARM RAW BOARD recording. My advice, add a little 63 on the low end some 5k for crispness, you've got yourself one helluva show my friend. ENJOY!
The 31st is a great warm up to this, but this night they are really "ON" all the way through!

A Wicked Drums and Space!
I remember lying on the living room floor about twenty years ago just melting to this show. A great hometown gig. The Drums and Space are amazing and Morning Dew comes out of Space like a benediction.

We used to refer to the 2nd set as the "greatest hits" set. Everyone did a double take the first time they saw that list.

You had the tape? filler?
I remember this being one of the first if not the first dead tape i got, and as someone else said listening to it over and over, it was the best quality tape i had. While this show is a nice, id really like to hear the filler from that tape. I belive there was a Desolation Row>QueenJane, and maybe Peggy-o which might have been cut. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
The filler was never properly labled on my cassette, and hell the original j-card was lost years ago. Would love to figure this out.
Thnx

please post an aud tape
this show was one of the finest i ever saw: intimate, powerful, tasty, a stunning set list. the guy sitting next to me called every song in the second set, i was 16 and blazing and it freaked me out. i swear there was smoke arising from jer's guitar (two people next to me saw it to...) out of 150 shows this was totemic. thought i would never find a tape, please post an AUD someone so i can enjoy in a proper stereo.
xoxoxo.

Nice Show
Sure, there are some splices, but the quality of the soundboard is right on. Everybody's instrument sounds fat and the vocals are well- balanced. A nice 80's sound mix and not the noise-gate clipped thin sound of many 90's sbds. Brent's playing is especially sweet, but the whole band is cookin'. 1st set has tunes from upcoming "In the Dark" which are groovin' even though they sound a bit "studio tight."

Set-List Concerns
I can't find the setlist to this show. I thought they opened with Morning Dew at first. I would imagine 1 of the earlier reviewers would have easy access to the correct setlist.

Oops!! I see the posted setlist now.
-Can someone confirm the correctness of this posted setlist? It would be appreciated.

FIX THE FADE OUT, PLEASE
One of my favorite shows from the '80s.
My first bootleg.
Please I beg you, anyone, fix the cut/fade out between drums>dew. It doesn't need to be there! CDs are not the only medium we use and are on the way out.

Great show, but some cuts
I've had the second set for years, and this is right up there with 8-10-82 for my favorites of the first half of the 80s. The source sounds great overall BUT, my DL had several annoying cuts in the H>S>F (I love this Franklin's, BTW) as well as some digi-weirdness during the quiet part of Dew (ugh). Although my cassette copy of the SBD is hissy and hi-gen (and has some vinyl-sounding pops), it doesn't have these glitches. Nevertheless, this is a true gem of a show and shouldn't be missed.

Possibly the best overall show in March and April -- I thought the beginning of the second set was rough, but the first set and second half of second set are excellent.

gooey '84 goodness
This show is a personal favorite of mine. It's one of the first really good sounding tapes I got and I listened to it over and over and over. It's burned into my brain. The second set is best. It slips and slides right along. Brent's classic keys at the beginning of Help. Terrapin! Dew out of Space?! Think about it -- Help > Slip > Franklin's, Terrapin, AND Dew in the second set? That's a crazy loco list. Jerry's performance is fluid in a sleepy sort of way.
