A mighty a primal drum section reminiscent of the early acid test days. Follows after a rare Cryptical and breaks through into The Other One.

Shocked that this hasn't been listed! Great energy with some decimating lines from Jerry and Bobby is screaming his big ol heart out. Great version.

Jerry and Bobby create a beautiful space before TOO. A conversation in strings. Billy and Mickey create primal, carnivorous music. Hunting music.

What a crown jewel Pretty Peggy O can be. A truly tender version that washes away all my worries. These 74 versions are quite special.

Me and My Uncle

The Dead take the Parisians through a cowboys surrealist day dream. Check out how both Keith and Jerry are utterly locked into the music.

Looks Like Rain

Newcastle City Hall

Walking through an emerald dream, drops of cool rainwater envelope you as you explore this beautiful fantasy landscape. Stunning piece of art.
Ramble On Rose
April 11, 1972
Newcastle City Hall

An old favorite. If you want to hear Keith at his most confident, look no further. Europe really propelled him into the upper echelons of incredible musicianship, with him adding so much to the backdrop of this carnival ride. One of my all time favorites. Such great energy in Newcastle.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
April 11, 1972
Newcastle City Hall

Been a while since I spun this version. A colorful version that has the band enter this psychedelic steampunk atmosphere that has every gear turning in all directions but working as one machine. One of the most interesting and rhythmically unique transitions into Rider I've heard. With the whole band exploring new ideas and then Phil propels everyone into synchronized musical bliss. Great version that's top 3 of the tour for me. Phil gets 5 gold stars.
Mister Charlie
April 11, 1972
Newcastle City Hall

Extra groovy version for the lads in Newcastle. Seems like this got lost in the sea of amazing Mister Charlie’s this tour, this one shines through, with some slick licks and irreplaceable harmonies, the boys get their blues on in this one.

Phil sounds like a roaring cosmic chimera at times, literally making his bass scream and shout. This gets into dangerous territory, from lysergic Weather Report style jamming ala Zawinul, from sci fi space shape sonar communication, and from radioactive mind control laced with nuclear energy and unidentified elements. Performing an electric seance forcing a demon into the mortal realm thrown the technological. This sounds like Kraftwerk went through MK Ultra.
