Outrageous version. Takes a second to get the mix dialed in, but man they blow the roof off. This has to be one of the best Wall of Sound shows.

Morning Dew
May 8, 1977
Barton Hall - Cornell University

9/21/72, 9/27/72, 10/19/73, and 9/10/74 walk all over cornell. I think 10/19/73 is the best of them all, but any one of these dews annihilates cornell. the 77 sound doesn't even come close to 72-74

Definitely inferior to the 5/5/77 version. The guitar solo is nice, but nowhere near the peaks in the 5/5 version. That one is the gold standard.

I strongly believe this is the best version of this song. BTW is possibly my favorite non-jammer tune, and this version is flawless.

The Spectrum

Coming out of the best dark star ever played, this Dew is one of the best ever versions; however, the version from a week later on 9/27 at the Stanley is the best they ever played.
Dark Star

The Spectrum

This dark star is clearly the pinnacle of human creation. This version is not just about the jam at the end; every moment of this dark star is intense, interesting, searching, pushing the boundaries of what anybody knew was possible. Keith is really the x-factor here; his playing on this dark star is absolutely mind blowing. This dark star is flawless, better than Veneta, and really the height of Grateful Dead music in my opinion.
