China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Oct. 18, 1989
The Spectrum

Just heard this for the first time. Should be higher. This is a rocking beast of a rider. I love how Mickey and Billy pick up on how hot Jerry was getting and crush it. I'll remember this next time I'm in the mood for 80's 90's rider
Queen Jane Approximately
Oct. 18, 1989
The Spectrum

Agreed Jerry's sole is uplifting and weir is rifting beutifuly. There's somthing about this version. It's one of those times for me when all the instruments come together and those amazing sounds that only members of the Grateful Dead can make and only Deadheads can understand. This is my go to queen jane.
Attics of My Life
Oct. 16, 1989
Meadowlands Arena

Agreed, this was the best. 10/09/1989 was wonderful for many reasons bit this one's the tightest. It digs down in my soul and leaves speechless but in better mental place.
Ramble On Rose
July 7, 1989
JFK Stadium

To me the instrumental build up to the grass ain't greener wine ain't sweeter part is what separated this mammoth Rose from others. Jerry is clearly having fun and that always adds to it. This show was tight. Nothing crazy but so well played. This show is what the late 80's Dead were all about. They may not have taken you on as many adventures as the old days but they were consistantly on fire. Reminiscent of spring 77.
Throwing Stones
Oct. 9, 1989
Hampton Coliseum

This version has some terrific unique moments. I love how at the end Bobby stretches the vocals on the ashes ashes part. Brent keyboard fills during the main jam are to me what really make this version.
