Don't Ease Me In
April 13, 1989
Rosemont Horizon

Great set closer. Jerry is top notch and Brent was at his best when he behind a B3.

Rosemont Horizon

Excellent Cassidy with deep jam, Jerry and Brent throwing colors on the canvas.

Pretty Peggy O
April 13, 1989
Rosemont Horizon

Just a perfect Peggy-O. Jerry's voice is so strong and his solo is melodic, band doesn't rush and Brent has some nice textures from his keys.

Oh Babe It Ain't No Lie
April 25, 1981
The Stone

New Bear's Sonic Journals release sounds AMAZING!

Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad
March 24, 1971
Winterland Arena

“Don’t wanna be beaten this old way…” Shorter, with just a single solo, but extremely powerful performance that could have been on Skull N Roses

Big River
July 1, 1973
Universal Amphitheatre

Jerry totally letting his Bluegrass chops take over- these solos are just insane! Hunter Seamons matrix sounds great.
Brown Eyed Women
May 4, 1972
Olympia Theater

just lovely. it's funny to think that after 4/14 Tivoli (take 3 and ultimately the master take for the album), the band didn't feel like playing this tune for like 3 weeks. must've decided no point after they already got the definitive recording! but this is just as special as 4/14; check out Pigpen's organ.
Deal
May 5, 1977
New Haven Coliseum

I'm also alarmed that a Deal this smokin' has only 8 votes- there's nothing that the Cornell version has that this one doesn't. Jerry's singing and soloing, the band's rhythm and dynamics, even the sound quality of the Betty Board- it's all as strong or stronger than Cornell.
Bird Song
June 10, 1973
RFK Stadium

Maybe it's just the mix, but to me the real star of this Bird Song is Phil. Keith in the left channel and Jerry in the right are doing gorgeous, awe-inspiring things, but loud in the center is that bass. Deep, heavy frequencies but a light, melodic touch.
Loose Lucy
Feb. 15, 1973
Dane County Coliseum

Second-ever Loose Lucy rocks! This is also the only time this tune ever opened a show, which is a shame because here it’s a perfect opener.
