Only a few months old but an early passionate outro to this one.

Had to check myself a few times when I didn't see this one under the date. Listen and vote!

I am bias to 77 versions but this is easily one of the best ever for me. Definitely top of the list for 78. It feels like the solos were purposely orchestrated but also like no other version I have ever heard before. Great version. Made me tear up finding this gem.

I am at a loss for words on how low this one is. I know we all generally have a good ear which is why we love the Dead but I am questioning anyone that has ever listened to this and didn't think it was amazing. I have listened to a ton of EP and about 90% of 77 and this may be one of the best of 77 yet alone any other year. I beg you all to look this up. It is a pretty good AUD. Everyone is on. They take more time before going into the outro solo with nice harmonies and Donna with her "oooo's". You can tell Jerry was feelin it. You can hear the swag and it feels like the outro goes a little longer than what they had been doing up to that point. I believe Keith is adding some sort of effect on the low end which gives it a nice erie way to close it. I could just imagine being in the crowd and first hearing that bass line and the sound of the envelope filter. Awesome early Prophet. Maybe one of the best? PLEASE GIVE A LISTEN!!!
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain

Best part for me is the Mutron intro in Fire. After Jerry plays around for a little he does this quick run and takes a pause. In that pause you can hear a woman say "YES!" Knowing what these crowds were about to hear is part of the excitement for me on these early versions.

Upvoting only for the Fire. Scarlet was a little off especially with the lyrical flub. But this Fire is a really nice early version. Still working out the song but still carrying the swagger throughout. Love the solo before the first verse.

I really don't know why this one is so far down the list. I have heard a majority of the shows above this and yes there are some nice ones sprinkled in but not enough to make me comment. 4-30-77 has always been my top Peggy O and this one is right next to it. Almost like a 1A. The MTX is clear, Jerry's vocals are on point, the first solo shows me why people would follow Jerry wherever he would lead them and the last solo reminds me why we all miss him.
