What a treat. Why is this show undervalued? C'mon folks, don't let a good AUD scare you. This is a beaut, with the crowd part of the party.

Highlight from the first set. Keith sets it on fire. Jerry is in top form.

The '76 ones ted to plod along a bit too much for my taste, but Jerry tears this one right up with a good shitkickin' solo and great tone.

Continues the run of perfect Mamas from the Summer tour. This one is short and sweet, perfect vocals.

Full of strut. The band is in perfect form, everyone is on. Precise, strong, and full of swagger.

Truckin'

A Truckin' that reminds you exactly why this is the one Dead song that everyone knows, whether or not they've ever even heard of the bus, let alone got on it. Hard driving rocker here with great great jams. I love how you know they're gong to go into TOO at around 09:00, but decide collectively to explore together for about ten more minutes before coming back to it.

Cgarces is right. This needs more attention. Nicely balanced between the smoky rap and the hot jam, with a hint of out-of-bounds tripiness that does ever quite tip over into deep madness. Good catch.
Playin' In The Band

This version sneaks up on you. It starts very calm and spacey, almost more absent than present, then gets quite heavy right quick, as mentioned by others. A compact explosive demonstration of what Playin' was all about in Spring '72.

Brand new song, (alright except that one outlier in '74) that sparkles and shines right out of the gate. A beautiful kick-off to the most under-rated tour of the 1970s.

Came back to this one and rushed to this site to make sure it was up here. Thanks, Earlier Me, for pointing out how frickin' ballsy and hot this one is. Check out the first mini-jam before Pig's rap, starting about 2:15 in. That's what tight playing's all about. These guys smoked it....
