Music Hall

This should be higher- reminds me of Raceway park 77,gorgeous middle Jerry n Keith duet followed by a dreamy outtro jam, like the best Hes gones- its the Jerry n Keith chemistry that makes it SHINE.

After relistening to this one im totally impressed with KGs contribution- first time i heard it i thought hed tried a little too hard and was perhaps keen to impress..Not this time,i reckon he nailed it,just like he did in Europe. Also nice to hear the 2nd verse of DS..Im adding this to my collection post-haste.
Smokestack Lightnin'
Dec. 7, 1971
Felt Forum, Madison Square Garden

After hearing the highly ranked 80s smokestacks,im guessing theyre popular with fans who were there at the time- they dont compare to any Pigpen version full stop..I can, though appreciate how wierd/trippy they may have been to witness with the fx and all..Musically,this has that infectious Pig-Dead funk that wouldve made Howling wolf take notice.. +1
Loser
Dec. 30, 1978
Pauley Pavilion

Horrified to find this one so low on the charts:Jerry nails the solo and rides the music like a wave, very well played show and Donna sings like an angel throughout.

Im likin this one too-with Bobby singing Shannons lines too i think Jerrys concentrating on playin instead.I dig the way he follows Bobbys lines with rapid fire licks..Tambourines nice at 3:30 also.
