China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
May 25, 1974
Campus Stadium, UCSB

This one smokes!! I went for the AUD to feel the wall of sound..A furiously good Chinacat that gallops along and blazes through the transition at breakneck speed, great energy and the great AUD gives you the 'being there' feeling..wehey!!
Bird Song
Dec. 12, 1972
Winterland Arena

Another soaring Bird song, all the 72s ive heard are really strong versions, the jams are so fluid,i always think of them as mini-Dark Stars. The whole band shines here.

Winterland Arena

Great vocals indeed-Jerry n Donna Jean team up nicely, she harmonises well with Bobby and Jerry on these shows.June-Winterland is my favourite run of 1977.
Dark Star
April 14, 1972
Tivolis Koncertsal

This is another great D/S,everybodys locked in and listening to and playing off of each other. Its amazing, that the band were doing this or the Other one every show, getting into far out space jams all improvised, telepathically linked-like a seance-way cool..Delicate and quiet at times and snowballing/building to a galloping FGJ>space>SugarMags..Improvisational masterclass.

Today in 1972: Pigpen was such a strong presence during E72.This song has a perfect groove, great harmonica and Garcia solo. The GDs blues-frontman,Go Pig!
