Deal

Egypt show - best 70s version. Closing 2 minutes of "Don't you let that Deal go down" coda is a raucous affair.

From "Ladies and Gentlemen" Fantastic version, better than a dozen others I know from formally released shows and Dick's. Can't believe it's not here.

Best version: Tight, up-tempo, great mix, Bob's guitar, Bob's vocal, Jerry's solo, Keith's piano, harmony vocals, Bill's drum fill at 3:27

Not Brents fault about the loud fisher price keyboard. He simply had no say. Here Brent, I want you to play this telephone; Otay Jerry - pass da smack!
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain

Auditorium Theatre

Listen up - the jam leading up to "the winds in the willows" verse is incredible. Listen to how the drums rock out at this part. Really builds up some energy.

I don't like the overdubbed vocals. Not really a live version, just an unusual sounding hybrid. Try 4/24/72.
Dark Star
March 23, 1972
Academy of Music

This is one of those nice melodic Dark Stars. It would have more votes if it were more widely available, but it's from the rare rare rare Rockin' the Rhein with the Grateful Dead Bonus Disc, so not much exposure. If you're looking for Dark Stars to add to your collection, you'll want to stop here for a classic 1972 rendering. Reminds me of 4-8-72, 10-31-71, and 2-2-70. Come to think of it, the entire Bonus Disc is blissful: Playing in the Band (no Donna), Sugar Magnolia, Caution, Jam, Uncle John's Band, Dark Star.
