This should be listed as a PLayin' Jam - and a very fast one at that.

Possibly from the second set, or maybe another show.

I just wish the keyboards didn't drown everyone else out.

What a depressing song.

I don't get it. Yes, the vocals are great, but Jerry is rather sluggish, in one of those "I guess if I have to." moods.
Revolutionary Hamstrung Blues

Cumberland County Civic Center

I would like to thank whoever it was that decided this should never be played again.
Johnny B. Goode

The Spectrum

I'm not saying this is the best ever, but I had to get it up and visible. Keith is playing some serious keys, Jerry shreds, Phil is thumping and Donna fits right in. To me, this is better than all of the versions listed in the top 5 here.
Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad

The Dead play well when they know they're being professionally filmed and this show is no exception. Jerry's got the lonesome prairie boogie going on and Brent gets a solo and makes the most of it. Very tight version.
Promised Land
Sept. 18, 1990
Madison Square Garden

Next to Jerry, Bruce Hornsby was the most talented musician to play with the Dead. The band was on fire more often than not and Bruce kick started Jerry back into playing some great guitar. If you think the Dead stopped making great music in the 70's, you're crazy. This version has a Hornsby solo, then a Vince solo, where Hornsby takes over, then Jerry takes over and after the last word is sung, Jerry just goes nutzoid on the guitar. This is a must hear version.
