Alabama Getaway
Dec. 26, 1979
Oakland Auditorium

Given that this is the most rockin' song the Dead played, those idiotic bells that Brent plays mars the song. They are completely out of place here.
One More Saturday Night
Oct. 31, 1971
Ohio Theatre

Really good - showcases just how good a rock & roll piano player Keith was, but not the best from the early versions with the different lyrics.
Its All Over Now
Dec. 31, 1978
Winterland Arena

For the most part, floppy, lazy, unfocused. How you could think this is better than 9-20-90 is beyond me.
Sugar Magnolia
June 20, 1983
Merriweather Post Pavilion

The song opens up unfocused and lazy. Towards the end, it's Brent carrying the song. What does that say about Jerry? The Sunshine Daydrem tries to start twice, with Billy giving the cue, but the rest of the band missing it. When it finally gets going, Bob starts rambling some nonsense about Aboriginies - or whatever way it's spelled. At that point, I'm checking out - I've had enough. Second best ever? Pass the crack pipe.
Sugar Magnolia
Aug. 27, 1972
Old Renaissance Faire Grounds

You people must be smoking crack. How can something be the best ever when the first 50% of it is slow, lazy, unfocused and lacking in direction and purpose? Seriously. The first 4 minutes of this version sucks.
