The last of a whopping 73 plays in 1972, and a nice one to finish with...

Perhaps not surprisingly, you can really hear the '73 sound starting to emerge here (and elsewhere in the show)...

Good start to a very overlooked show. This was their most common opener in '72, kicking off 32 shows, this being the last of them (opens S2 on NYE).

Good version sandwiched between HCS and the big jam suite...

Seems like this show needs more love around here...a few high vote-getters, but the whole thing rocks

^I'm listening to it for the first time today. Loved the Bird Song as well, haven't gotten to TOO yet.

Stellar version. Love Jerry's outro licks on this one!

Couldn't agree more with the previous comments -- as a drummer myself, I much prefer the one drummer era. There was much greater variety of tempos, especially compared to the post-hiatus era. They were also able to change directions much more swiftly when it was just Billy. Having said that, the two drummers thing doesn't bother me on the songs that entered the repertoire post-hiatus, but it does on songs from '71-'74 when played post-hiatus (e.g. plodding versions of "Bertha," "They Love Each Other").
