U.S. Blues (Wave That Flag)

Smokin' encore. You know the playing was hot when even this is a scorcher.

Smokin little number boosts the second set.

Bobby seems on this whole night, and Jerry's tone is unreal.

Surprised not to find this here.

One of the first Dead songs I ever heard way back in the day. Kicks off a raging Set II.

Yes!! Also, as a reviewer on the Archive pointed out, listen to Jerry play the "and many more" tag from "Happy Birthday" at the end of this song to commemorate Phil's 50th.

Top shelf performance from Garcia on both vocals and guitar. Also think this is a great song in general!

I *thought* this sounded familiar! Net was one of the first Dead releases I'd ever heard, and I'm glad it was!!

Glad to see this here! I think it's a decent song, and it adds some variety to the set list. While some of these later shows can be formulaic (at least w/r/t the openers), having a Brent tune in the third or fourth slot breaks things up, and I think it also gives Bobby and Jerry a breather, making the rest of the set a bit hotter when it works.

A sprightly version > from a similar "Jack Straw." Nice solos from Garcia (working those triplets!), but he’s a bit hard to hear in this AUD.
