Greatest Story Ever Told

Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center

Solid version of this tune. Less of a trainwreck when played later in the set it seems.

Tennessee Jed

First great post-coma moment. Phil is unbelievable throughout. Jerry's in it to win it. Check the SBD.

Convincing vocal performance by Jer. Especially second verse.

Promised Land

Rowdy, spirited version. Jerry not quite done with it when everyone else is.

Community War Memorial Auditorium

Jerry does everything he possibly can at the moment in this tune

It's a good bet something interesting will happen when Jerry fucks up the first line of a song. The rest of the singing is deep and intense. Brilliant solos too.

The Spectrum

Weird how Jerry pushes the tempo and plays power chords when he's frustrated. Fortunately Phil and the drummers keep up with him and there are so nasty-ass power chords and riffs here. Worth a listen.

Burning, desperate solo. Love it when Jerry plays with rage like this. Probably because Bob really effed him when they went into Miracle at the end of Stella Blue.
The Music Never Stopped
Aug. 23, 1980
Alpine Valley Music Theater

Phil blows my mind with what he plays at the very beginning of the jam. Lots of peaks and Alpine Valleys in the jam itself.
