Amazing that this one isn't here. Keith's first show, Pigpen absent.

Keith really adds some intensity. Do you know where your train is at 2am?

I can't believe this one isn't here. Short but very sweet.

Playin' In The Band

Someone extracted this show from the box set and had it on Ebay. So of course I nabbed it. (this and 5/19/74 are my favorites from the set). Oh yeah, the PITB. This is jazz as actualized by musicians from the psychedelic age. The question keeps coming up: was Phil tripping? Let's just say he's feeling his oats. Intergalactic in nature. Take that, Pink Floyd! Some of us actually like physical media. Take your cause over to the Steve Hoffman Forum. You'll see I'm not alone.

I don't know, it seems pretty laid back in the solo section. Sorta like this take.

Do you like your Sugaree pyrotechnic? We got that. My one-word description of Wolf on this night is: piercing.

To be pedantic: they played Ship on 2/22 and 2/23, making this the third performance.

We're in the eighth song in the first set and it's been excellent already. Has anyone mentioned that this is a Betty Board? And you know what that means: crisp separation and that just exactly perfect volume for each instrument. Will this show and even the other unreleased Berkeley shows ever get released? If you're over 70, like I am, you get a bit anxious.
