Whoa, I can't believe this hasn't been submitted. Great vocal and four minutes of sublime outro solo. Check it out!

Phil is high in the mix. One of the best '71 versions, I believe.

Uncle John's Band

Yale Bowl, Yale University
This needs more votes. Listen to the buildup to the last verse, driven by a relentless rhythm section. Got to this one by listening to a lot of shows from August 1971 lately. They were on fire that month, as one can hear in that Hollywood and then the Berkeley shows. Edit: Wow. This really needs more votes. People, please listen to this one and vote.

Another great DS floundering in the vote count (along with the sublime 5/15/70 I might add). Wonderful sci-fi soundtrack section at around the 8 min mark, then later we get the melodic jams for over 10 minutes. What's not to like?

This is a thing of beauty. You might like your DS scary, spacy, etc. This one is truly your Zen DS, as gdtrfb notes. Perhaps my favorite after 10/18.

I get the free jazz stuff (especially around the 17 minute mark), and the playing can't be faulted, but I don't find this one very compelling. So, for me, just average.

There's almost a Santana-like feel to the jam in the middle section. Unique. I like!
