A laid back one. Phil's bass and Billy in the groove.

Everyone is on for this one. Great vocals, even by Donna. Why isn't this getting any love?

Just now opened up my copy of BIIYNI (I can't afford the whole PN box!) and put on disc 1. Well. There appears to be some real energy to this one. From my favorite spring 74 show. This official release has mixed in some crowd noise, and they seem pretty pleased. As they should have been. At about the 1:30 mark into IKYR, it dawned on me that this just might be the very best.

JG does some random rearranging of the lyrics, so it's not quite a vote for me. Also, I think he draws out some of the words way too much. Not fond of Weir's tone on this version; sort of grating.

Portland, two days earlier, gets the votes, but this one is better. Flawless execution during the quiet "back on my feet' section by everyone. Steadier vocal by JG. A contender for the best of 74.

This is good, but 5/21 in Seattle is even better. I would have liked to have seen 5/21 on Believe It If You Need It, but Dave opted for the one embedded in the second set from 6/22/73. Understandable, though.
