Holy Bolero, Batman! That sures seems like a nod to Ravel there at the end. I moved out of the Bay Area (I lived in Menlo Park) just six months before this show. I'm trying to imagine the state of my mind at the end of this first set had I been there. Thank goodness for the vault, the archives, what have you that we may all hear stuff like this so many years later.

Okay, I was getting ready to cringe at the 5 minute mark, but Donna was behaving. I haven't listened a lot of the standalones, but this certainly is impressive. Tropical, indeed. You get the feeling they could have kept going for another 10 minutes or so.

This may be my favorite outro. Meditative at points, mournful at others. The entire band shines on this one. Probably Top 10, but the tyranny of 1977 will ensure it languishes in near obscurity. It's too bad. Also, what Carrion Crow said.

Gets pretty dense and intense at the end. It works here where it doesn't in some later versions. August 1971 is pretty amazing in case you hadn't noticed.
