One of the first times they extended the outro jam with a longer Jerry solo. Vocals are killer and they do 2 "across the Rio Grandeo" parts. Great version. One of 1972's best.

The song was only a few months old at this point and they started shaping it into what it become in the later 70s. Jerry screws up the lyrics, but that's nothing new. Agree, this is a crisp version.

Up until this show Jerry sang "On the day that I was born, Daddy sat down and died". This is the first time he sings the permanent lyrics of "Daddy sat down and cried." I'm going through every Half Step from 1972-1977 to see its evolution.
