Absolutely outstanding Garcia, a couple moments made my jaw drop

Greatest Story Ever Told
Sept. 8, 1973
Nassau Coliseum

I dig this one, Garcia plays some longer, watery lines that get the job done in a satisfying way

Around and Around
Sept. 7, 1973
Nassau Coliseum

Just listen to the Wolf--funky, dirty, sort of countrified--a unique and powerful version

Is it just me? I feel like this is a really good one

What is this, chopped liver? Jerry rips it!

Uncle John's Band
Nov. 30, 1980
Fox Theatre

This show is so long my brain is drooping by this point. I voted for it anyway, I'll have to listen to it first next time and see if it deserves it.
China Doll
Nov. 30, 1980
Fox Theatre

This might be the best ever. I listened to 11-11-73 today (for the zillionth time) and this too, and I like this better--the band has a lower center of gravity, more heft and cohesion, and gravity in the other sense--some years and mileage. The first minute alone is sublime--everyone is bubbling along playing slightly offset from each other, then Garcia calls the official start and they all come together seamlessly. I think Jerry jumps his cue with the first vocal, but no one misses a beat.
Ship of Fools
Nov. 30, 1980
Fox Theatre

Yeah this is as good as you could ask for
Samson and Delilah
Nov. 30, 1980
Fox Theatre

Yeah this is great
Little Red Rooster
Nov. 30, 1980
Fox Theatre

I usually skip this but I didn't today, and this version isn't half bad...
