Wake Up Little Susie

Capitol Theater

THe crowd is a raucous clap along wonder, so into this the band feeds on the energy, a classic take on a classic song, Bobby is wonderful on his verse just about perfect. This show is a barn burner. High Energy does not begin to describe it. Incredible energy and performance from a great show would love to hear a matrix of this show.

Love the alternate lyrics, and just adore the fast paced FOTD's. This is one of the few songs i usually prefer wooden. Great version, The interaction with the crowd is priceless.

Intro is all about Vince and Bobby and its surprisingly hot, Jerry does an Ok job with the first verse but seems to Awaken afterwards wit ha very hot solo, the next verse he sounds so clear and sings it with conviction and his guitar afterward is sharp with nice accompaniment from Vince. Gets it real quiet almost to a hush level the crowd gets quiet along with the music than rosebud comes twinkling out of the near silence. Full band building the transitional Terrapin jam with Jerry fluttering atop it very nicely done, Leads beautifully into the since the end is never told.... then a nice tension build and builds to a wonderful "Inspiration" release. Some rise some fall some climb... all sung well with conviction. You can tell Jerry is really starting to feel it. The drummers really nailing the beat emphatically that extra little umph behind it , the Terrapin jam is swelling TERRAPIN.. the following jm is top notch exceptional stuff. THe ending jam is about 9 minutes of pure bliss the whole band in unison ripping things until it veers into very spacey territory, very unique jam develops that gets out there. It starts with Jerry and Vince trading off lines then Bobby joins in a little, things start getting a little crazy the drummers are pounding out a nice funky beat, Jerry is just twinkling away beautifully. Vince plays some lines that have a days betweenish sound JErry is just twinkling away Vince comes and joins him in a very spacey almost mini little meltdown. Then Vince darts off with jerry following him, Bobby is still out playing some underlying sounds, Mickey is beating away on something making some cool sounds and Jerry is still just bubbling away fantastic stuff. Switches to a midid horn sounds for some absolute space. Nice tension built that releases into the Rhythm Devils very cool stuff.
