In most ways typical of era but I wanted to note it for how fine Donna's voice is throughout this one.

Nice pacing with good energy. Playing is good with exception of Bobby's slide solo, which falls into that period of out of tune passion.

Nice energetic version with proper pacing and sharp playing.

This is a really smoking version. The playing is great with high intensity and energy.

Nice transition from the drums. Good energy and firm attitude towards the song. Crowd enjoying it very much. Nice fading at the end.

Jerry's runs are fantastic.

Interesting sounds with a gentle intro building strongly into the space that starts the process over again. Very trippy. Best with headphones.

Much of this is pretty standard for the time. However, the fun intensity of the final jam is exciting, with the interplay of Jerry and Bill being a moment of bliss.

This doesn't need another comment but it deserves it. I like Cornell but as a whole this piece beats 5/8/77. This is simply a beautiful piece of work. The interlude on Scarlett is the finest. Touching guitar work by Jerry. The transition between songs is long and spacey. I can never stay focused through the whole thing. My mind always drifts to parts unknown. I can't help it. Fire is strong and long. Not as powerful and relentless as the finish on Cornell, but prettier and the interplay is much stronger. But persistent too. It always feels like an orchestral composition more than an in your face, take no prisoners bombardment. I'm impressed and worn out after Cornell, but I'm satisfied, awe filled and delighted after Cedar Falls. The word beautiful applies to this version, which is not true with Cornell. This is bliss.

This is a nice version. The build up to Franklin's Tower isn't long but it's tasty and sweet. Tough to find good recordings but they are better than what I had in the 80's.
