16 minutes, with trippy vibes going on throughout. Sick jamming, vocals are not too bad, but could be better.

This one lifts off. Massive rendition. Garcia melodically pushes this one to multiple peaks, a fantastic version.

Bird Song
Nov. 17, 1972
Century II Convention Hall

Not sure why they dropped it, they probably just didn't enjoy playing it anymore, and didnt feel it fit in with the normal rotation of songs. Some of their songs just fell by the wayside, not because they were bad, but because it was tiresome playing a configuration that was a little bit odd. Bird Song although a great song, was maybe felt to be too complex for the slot it was given. Really they should have kept it in the rotation for longer. Again, I have no real concrete idea for why the dropped such a great song, so I will pose the same question again in which Carrion asked, why did they drop it? Perhaps with the official release some lurker may just have the answer, if so speak up.

This version is fucking incredible
Viola Lee Blues
Sept. 3, 1967
Dance Hall

This version is sick. A really high energy version. This really kicks ass, and throughout there are hints at something like an MLB jam or dark star jam. Definitely one of my favorites. Truly dank and needs more votes.
New Minglewood Blues
