Vince always seemed to step up his game for "Minglewood," and this is no exception. Hot hot hot!

Lovely late day "Roses" in the Vegas heat. Very touchingly sung and played.

Foolish Heart
Sept. 18, 1990
Madison Square Garden

The more I think about the it, the more I think this one is the best one. The post-song jam is out of the is world, yes, but the song itself is also rock solid. Jerry plays some heartbreakingly soulful leads throughout, but Phil is also beastly on this one. This whole run was fiery, but especially these last three shows.
Playin' In The Band

Laguna Seca Recreation Area

The only post-1974 "Playin'" that is entirely self-contained (meaning the 'reprise' is within the body of the song itself and not split). A unique version in many ways.

I don't know how this is sitting down there with a mere six votes. If 5/26/93 can get as many votes as it has (and it does deserve them), this one should be right up there with it. It not only gets way out there but the chemistry and improvisation, especially between Jer and Phil, is outstanding. Not just good for 1994, this would be a titanic version in any era.
Its All Over Now

This version is one of the best. Jerry's playing is so damn crisp. Everything cgarces has said about this show is 100% correct: the set list may not be great, but the playing is top notch throughout and as good as you can get for post-1991 Dead.

Jerry plays some seriously strong licks here.
