Capital Centre

My only criticism of this version is Vince being too prominent in the mix...which isn’t necessarily too bad a thing, being that his playing on this version is totally sublime. This is also one of the longest versions of Birdsong ever. All that aside... this is one of my favorites of the 90s, easily. Along with Vince...Bobby’s playing is very inspired. Jerry plays beautiful flute midi, as well as a very unique tone that brings a feel to this one that is like no other. This and 12/31/90 are gems.

YES!!!! An early gem!!!! I love the 71 versions. 4/29/71 was the one that first got me. But this one... i mean, come on... Dark Star > Birdsong??? Totally awesome. Billy’s drumming on this one is primal. Absolutely captivating. Best of the primitive versions.

My final show. The Standing on the Moon from this show is epic...

Good grief...what the hell happened in here??? Peace, people. Geez! Midi...obnoxious? Wow, so much negativity. Aint no time to hate!!! BTW...for you midi haters...try the Birdsong from 3/21/91. Other than Vince being too prominent in the mix (although his playing is sublime), this is the most epic version, post-Brent. Make way for the positive day...
