Best show of the year? Is that attendance bias? :-) I did just about every show on Fall Tour of 94, and many throughout the year. My favorites... 3/21 (sorely under appreciated show), 3/27, 3/28, 3/30, 7/21, 9/18, 10.1, 10.3, 10.5, 10.10, 10.14, 10.17.
IMO, 10.1 was the best, overall. That's why they chose it for the "30 Trips" boxset. The 3/21 show has stellar highlights, including my favorite Peggy-O. And that Stella... WOW! The Nassau shows also had jaw dropping moments...the 3/27 Other One > Morning Dew is not 90s-esque at all. It rages!!! Best Dew post 1990, IMO.
Most of summer was terrible. Giants was atrocious. 8/3/94 = worst show attended. Buckeye was okay, but the weather made it tough. Fall 94 was a pleasant surprise. You want to have your mind blown? Check out the Uncle John's > Jam > Drums (all with Jerry) from 10/5/94. Finally, The Help > Slip > Franklin's from 10/1 is lovely, however, don't miss the one from 10/10. Love the whacky fun sounds during Franks, and Phil on the Slipknot... Oh yeah...Don't get me wrong, 10/14 was a top show, i just don't think it was #1, having attended many of those shows...and 100% sober, so I actually remember them well! Nothing stands out in my head more than 10/1, however. Most people that say 10/14 > 10/1, did NOT attend 10/1. I had fantastic seats for all the shows i saw that tour, so pretty equal bias here.
