Following one of the most powerful versions of The Other One ever, this Drums is on par with the rest of the best show of 1979. The goods!

The Other One
May 26, 1973
Kezar Stadium

The most underrated Other One on this list. The Phil soloing prior to the intro is some of his most sublime playing ever and the spatial/stereo quality is pure sonic bliss. It seems like each player has the most amazing tone possible. Keith and Bob sound so in tune and in sync together. Phil is rattling the entire stadium, Biily sounds like three drummers at once, and Jerry is commanding the ship as if he’s channeling the cosmos. Searching for the sound? This is it.
Brokedown Palace
June 25, 1995
RFK Stadium

I was at this show. My final was 6/30/95. However, this final RFK show was stellar. Brokedown is probably my favorite encore. It’s one of those songs that instantly gives me a huge lump in my throat and the tears start welling up. So beautiful. This is so sentimental to me and is played so well. It’s 95 but as long as Jerry was there it didn’t matter. Bruce sounds wonderful on piano. As did he throughout this show. Don’t let the era deter you...this will make you smile...or cry...or both.
High Time

Memorial Coliseum

About to revisit this one...after just cranking 6/14/76, which is another top shelf performance. Love Donna’s phrasing on the chorus. Just exactly perfect.

Beacon Theatre

Incredibly haunting. Powerful, passionate singing. This is my personal favorite. Donna’s phrasing on the chorus is just exactly perfect.
Dark Star
Aug. 24, 1972
Berkeley Community Theatre

Vastly overlooked because of 8/27. This deserves way more recognition! The Dark Star is epic, but the Morning Dew is absolutely mind numbing!!! Must listen!!! Gets my vote as best DS > Dew combo of all time!!! ... with 10/19/73 and 10/18/74 a nose behind in a photo finish!!!
