Uncle John's Band
Sept. 15, 1990
Madison Square Garden

Fiery, galloping build up. Maybe this was overshadowed by the 9/19 version, but this one rips.

Stella Blue
Sept. 15, 1990
Madison Square Garden

Jerry flubs the cheap hotel, but it's OK. His guitar makes up for it. Check out last couple minutes. Builds beautifully. Just a notch below 9/19.

Scorching. Just flipping through the 1990 Garden run. Surprised this ain't here already. Bruce's 1st official night as a member of the band.

Weird one for sure. Starts as Spanish Jam, Bobby has a great notion, throws in O1 lyrics. Always good pair. Into Stellar Stella Blue-GDTRFB-Around...

I Know You Rider
Nov. 10, 1985
Meadowlands Arena

Half-step-Rider!! We were lucky to be there! Crazy ridiculous show!! Was thinking if it as I listened to the Other One-Rider from Dave’s 54 Bonus disc, which I apparently commented on a while ago. 3/31/73 is probably my favorite stand alone Rider, thanks especially to the entire gigantic jam (He’s Gone-Truckin-O1) leading up to it! But this one was lovely! Only time I ever seen it separated from China Cat….
Good Lovin'
Dec. 31, 1970
Winterland Arena

HOLY SMOKES!! Very different jam From 5/2/70 Harpur (which is one of the most fiery-rip-roaring-GoodLovin-jams ever!!! In the history of the world….) but WOW!! Ranks very close to 5/2/70! Primal Dead in its prime!!!!
Estimated Prophet

Dark Star
Nov. 15, 1971
The Austin Municipal Auditorium

Yes. This is the Grateful Dead. The second half out of El Paso is absurd, into a mellow rocking Casey and it’s not even the end of a ridiculous First Set. Entire show is why we keep listening and will be forever GRATEFUL. And…..this is a TOP 5 OVERALL DARK STAR.
