Fiery, galloping build up. Maybe this was overshadowed by the 9/19 version, but this one rips.

Jerry flubs the cheap hotel, but it's OK. His guitar makes up for it. Check out last couple minutes. Builds beautifully. Just a notch below 9/19.

Scorching. Just flipping through the 1990 Garden run. Surprised this ain't here already. Bruce's 1st official night as a member of the band.

Awesome. David Murray starts jamming fantastically about halfway through.

Weird one for sure. Starts as Spanish Jam, Bobby has a great notion, throws in O1 lyrics. Always good pair. Into Stellar Stella Blue-GDTRFB-Around...

Just noticing how underrated this show is. Wow. It even has an excellent Walking Blues!

This tune basically bookended Bruce's first five night run as a member of the gang. It's a great version to boot. Not too many dry eyes in the house. Jerry's voice at the end said a lot. Kinda shocked this show doesn't have more love. Great show.

Gotta agree. After the pure perfection of 8/13/75 and the beauty of 6/14/76, this one is right there with the best of them. Amazing. Thanks in a big way to Bruce! When they pick up the pace and begin the surge into UJB, lilting and gorgeous.

Phenomenal. Jam builds intensely after about 8 minutes. Pretty insane. And everything leading up to it, too.

Grendel, always enjoy reading your posts. 9/18/90 is a real nice show. That entire Garden run was pretty much magnificent. All 6 shows could have made a great box. 19-20 were particularly epic in how they felt like one long journey (and I say this knowing it was all one long journey... but those 2 nights were something special..). Despite Road Trips and DP9, it still would be a great box, since a lot of fantastic stuff from those shows was still left on the cutting room floor (Help-Slip-Frank; GDTRFB-Stella; the entire 2nd set from the first night - 9/14/90 - a scorching Scarlet-Fire, a sublime Terrapin that won't quit, a weird, blistering O1 into a beautiful, haunting, and very underrated Wharf Rat - an awesome night with a straightforward but ridiculously fun first set....), really, everything from that run (and 9/15, Bruce's first night as an official member, was none to shabby either... Even the Women Smarter from 9/20 was just exactly perfect). Having said all that, the entire Fall Tour through Europe was pretty darn tight. Everyone came to play after the tragedy of the summer. And they played hard..... But I digress. Completely forgot that we're on a totally different Garden run here. This Fall of '93 Garden run was pretty darn good too, especially considering it was 1993!!!
