Let It Grow
June 14, 1985
Greek Theater
Spectacular depth, detail, and feeling. Drummers drive the transitions, while Jerry offers cool rhythmic variations.

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Dec. 5, 1969
Fillmore West
Exploratory transition jam! Very different from most early versions. Has that anarchic ’60s energy.

Black Peter
Dec. 5, 1969
Fillmore West
Practically flawless early version played with focus and intensity.

Dancin' in the Streets
Dec. 5, 1969
Fillmore West
High-velocity, high-power jamming magic, all packed into less than nine minutes. Intense. From a wonderful overlooked show.

Cosmic Charlie
Dec. 5, 1969
Fillmore West
Very well played and sung! Pity about the audience member humming along out of tune, but otherwise a fine ’69 AUD.

Feel Like A Stranger
Nov. 10, 1985
Meadowlands Arena
As in most of this set, the playing is really hot and really fast. It’s not really a set for subtle communication and expressiveness, but it’s a great one for sweaty, slightly uncoordinated energy. I enjoyed it.
I Need A Miracle
Dec. 17, 1978
Fox Theatre
*Joani, sheesh.
Jack Straw
July 7, 1978
Red Rocks Amphitheatre
*Serious* firepower, vocally as well as instrumentally. Check this out, folks.
Let It Grow
Oct. 2, 1977
Paramount Theatre
Very exploratory in parts! I can’t think of many late-’70s versions that are this adventurous.
Estimated Prophet
Nov. 4, 1979
Civic Center
Even by the standards of ’79, this is a *great* Estimated. Enjoy.
