Best Loser you haven’t heard yet! Jerry takes the solo for an extra walk around the block! Required listening folks!

Candyman
March 7, 1981
Cole Field House

Jerry’s tone is just impeccable here! Moreover, Jerry adds a tad more umph to the soulful vocals. A standout of the era!

Big River
Oct. 21, 1973
Omaha Civic Auditorium

Blazing version, but I nominated it primarily for its placement within the context of the tasty Playin'->Half-Step->Big River->Playin' sandwich.

Deal

Universal Amphitheatre

Jerry's pipes never sounded sweeter, and Keith's barrel-house piano chops complements perfectly!

Orpheum Theatre

Deserves mention.

Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
March 22, 1990
Copps Coliseum

We deadheads rally behind this band. I love the unity of brotherhood and sisterhood it brings, but I also embrace the polarization and differences of opinion it fosters in these musical roundtable discussions. I acknowledge the artistic merits of this version; it's surely one of the very best of era. But I can't vote for it, because I don't much care for the sound of the era. Try as i might, I just can't get behind the MIDI. This is the era when I began going to shows; it was a cosmic experience beyond description. But since we now have the advantage of accessing nearly all the Dead's live catalogue in good sound quality, it's difficult to convince my ears this surpasses the golden era for this pairing of tunes: 1977-1982. Just my two pennies.

A balls-out version that caps one of the very best nights from this stupendous tour.
Cumberland Blues
April 8, 1972
Wembley Empire Pool

They tapped this one from the tour for the album, and it's easy to see (hear) why.
Black Throated Wind

Best of the tour!
