Loser
Oct. 30, 1980
Radio City Music Hall

Best Loser you haven’t heard yet! Jerry takes the solo for an extra walk around the block! Required listening folks!

Jerry’s tone is just impeccable here! Moreover, Jerry adds a tad more umph to the soulful vocals. A standout of the era!

Big River

Omaha Civic Auditorium

Blazing version, but I nominated it primarily for its placement within the context of the tasty Playin'->Half-Step->Big River->Playin' sandwich.

Universal Amphitheatre

Jerry's pipes never sounded sweeter, and Keith's barrel-house piano chops complements perfectly!

Orpheum Theatre

Deserves mention.

Horton Field House - Illinois State University

Yes, you're right grendel. And thanks for the heads up! Since they played it that way three times within a three week span would suggest it was more than mere coincidence. All worthy versions, too.
Around and Around

Springfield Civic Center Arena

Never a favorite tune of mine, but this version, and the one from 2/5 are the ones I regularly spin. This song peaked in '78.

Jerry's guitar wails and cries on this version. Brings happy-sadness.

They forget the vocal refrain on 5/10 as well! Another stellar version and show...

A great Cassidy from an ever greater show. Tonight's version is notable for a smooth bridge jam transition back into the vocal refrain "flight of the seabirds". However, just like on 4/24, they forget to sing it! It hardy matters, however, as the band nail it instrumentally.
