Different lyrics? You mean a flub? BTW is all about the poetry, and blown lyrics pretty can much disqualify any version from the "best ever" conversation.
Me and My Uncle
Aug. 27, 1972
Old Renaissance Faire Grounds
I'm not sure what could make a version of Me and My Uncle the best ever, but the precision and passion flowing through this version surely make it a contender.
Sugaree
Aug. 27, 1972
Old Renaissance Faire Grounds
This is an inherently good version because the band is playing incredibly well, but Jerry isn't really laying down anything memorable here. Overrated is right.
Black Peter
Aug. 25, 1972
Berkeley Community Theatre
Love the space Jerry leaves in his first solo. It really adds a certain weight to the song and is cohesive with the themes and spirit. Bob and Phil seem to be perfectly in sync too. Fantastic version.
