Radio City Music Hall

Best Loser you haven’t heard yet! Jerry takes the solo for an extra walk around the block! Required listening folks!

Jerry’s tone is just impeccable here! Moreover, Jerry adds a tad more umph to the soulful vocals. A standout of the era!

Big River

Omaha Civic Auditorium

Blazing version, but I nominated it primarily for its placement within the context of the tasty Playin'->Half-Step->Big River->Playin' sandwich.

Jerry's pipes never sounded sweeter, and Keith's barrel-house piano chops complements perfectly!

Deserves mention.

Great version! Played at a slightly faster clip than all the rest. Keith's fills on this version are particularly good.

This loser is a winner! Top 3 for '73.
Here Comes Sunshine
May 26, 1973
Kezar Stadium

A highlight from one of the three-set colossal 1973 shows. There are better versions, I'll argue: 2/15, 11/17, 11/30, 12/6, 12/19 & 2/24/74. That said, this one is unique and inspired. I love this version, and to my ears has more of dreamy and psychedelic bent than other versions. The tone on Bobby's guitar and the whimsical tinkling of Keith's Rhodes add color to the blissful soundscape. Heady!

2/15 and this one were the first two versions I ever heard, and both rank among the better versions. This one sounds tight, charged and inspired. I'm not sure if I'd place it in my top five, but I agree with 'ReasonTatters' in calling this one the best vocal rendition.

Rightly overshadowed by its big brother from two nights later. Still, this version is heady in its own right, and probably deserves a little more love...
